Cruise Lines Starting to Skip Mexico

April 28, 2009

This just in. Word is that Carnival’s Inspiration and Holiday are skipping Cozumel and the Elation is skipping Ensenada today. Holland America’s Ryndam is also skipping Mazatlan as well. If I hear anything more, I’ll post it.

UPDATE 1:20pm: Carnival announced that at 5:00pm ET, they will issue a statement about future itinerary alterations.

UPDATE 1:25pm: Princess state that they will have a statement tomorrow. Royal Caribbean has no comment as of yet.

UPDATE 1:42pm: Carnival Paradise canceling call in Ensenada tomorrow.

UPDATE 1:45pm From Princess Cruises we have cancelled the two calls scheduled for Mexican ports today — Puerto Vallarta (Sapphire Princess) and Cabo San Lucas (Coral Princess). Further, we have revised the itinerary for Sapphire Princess, replacing the Mexican ports with San Diego and Catalina. We hope that our passengers will understand that these changes were beyond our control and that we have provided them with an attractive, alternative itinerary.”
